The law on preventing professional burnout, initiated by the Minister of Economy Irineu Darău and USR Senator Cynthia Păun, received a rejection report in the Senate's Labor Committee, with favorable votes only from USR and UDMR senators. The project aimed to recognize and prevent professional burnout through measures intended to improve employee health and promote balanced working conditions. Irineu Darău emphasized the importance of preventing burnout, which affects employees and the economy. The initiative established responsibilities for employers, including informing employees about the risks of burnout and covering the costs for psycho-emotional support services. Additionally, employees would have had the right to report risks without retaliation. USR called for a re-evaluation of the initiative, emphasizing that ignoring burnout amplifies long-term social and economic costs.
