On Friday, Sorin Grindeanu was elected president of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) during an extraordinary Congress held at Romexpo, obtaining 2787 votes out of a total of 2810 cast. With only 15 votes against and 8 abstentions, Grindeanu stated that the PSD has a unique strength and that it is essential to remain close to the people.
He emphasized that the party must continue to make public policies for Romanians, without inventing anything new, but relying on its traditions and values. Grindeanu concluded with a call for unity, stating that only together can they build a strong future for Romanians.
