Siegfried Mureșan: “I have sent each member of the Government I am proposing a letter outlining their mission for Romania”

Designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan sent mission letters to the 16 ministers proposed for the future Government, setting out the objectives for each portfolio and the principles that would guide the Executive’s activity. The documents were sent after the submission of the governing program and the list of ministers to Parliament.

Mureșan maintains that the new Government must act on the basis of team spirit, integrity, transparency, and competence. He asked the ministers to cut all unjustified spending and manage public money prudently, as Romanians are paying higher taxes and duties to reduce the budget deficit.

The designated prime minister also cited external pressures, such as the continuation of the war in Ukraine, the increasingly frequent incursions of drones into Romania’s airspace, and rising oil and fuel prices amid the conflict in the Middle East.

Hearings for the proposed ministers are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, while the investiture vote is to take place on Wednesday at 13:00.
