PNL, USR and UDMR officially announced on Friday the proposal for prime minister with which they will go to the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, in the person of MEP Siegfried Mureșan.
Thus, the three parties are hopeful that Siegfried Mureșan will unlock this crisis.
“Based on the discussions held these days, we have decided to support Mr. Siegfried Mureșan as the prime ministerial proposal. He relies on his experience in managing European funds, a professional man. He has proven to be attached to European values and we believe that in this period he is a solution for Romania,” said PNL leader Ilie Bolojan.
The support for Siegfried Mureșan was also voted by USR and UDMR.
“We also had a meeting and voted for him, he is an economist with negotiation experience, with budget-making skills. He is a person we can support for a functional team,” said USR leader Dominic Fritz, who emphasized that “it is not reasonable to have a monocolor PSD government now and therefore the proposal to have a right-wing minority government, with Siegfried Mureșan as prime minister, is a reasonable one.”
