Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan justified the decision to increase salaries by 6.5%, starting from June 1, 2026, following the approval of a memorandum by the Government.

Bolojan emphasized the importance of the Neptun Deep project in the Black Sea, which will bring a surplus of gas to Romania, thus contributing to the country's energy independence. Investments in the Iernut power plant and the takeover of the Azomureș plant were also mentioned. The Prime Minister highlighted that salary increases and bonuses must be correlated with employee performance, stressing that it is not normal for those who do not deliver results to benefit from high salaries.
