The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru, stated that he has assured the European Commission that Romania can continue implementing the reforms committed to in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), despite the political crisis in Bucharest.
Pîslaru emphasized that investments are not affected by political turbulence and that work is underway to accelerate the process of completing important projects, such as hospitals and highways. He mentioned that Romania has the potential to access approximately 10 billion euros from the PNRR, provided that substantial reforms are fulfilled. He also acknowledged the risks of populism that could delay the adoption of key reforms, warning that this would represent the most severe scenario for the country.
