Dragos Pîslaru, the interim Minister of Labor, stated that Romania risks missing an important milestone from the PNRR due to political divisions regarding the new salary law.
Currently, two parties support the project, while two others have reservations or have not expressed their position, according to the interim Minister of Labor.
Pîslaru emphasized that, according to a political agreement, the project will not be submitted to Parliament without the support of all parties. He stated that the current version of the project meets the requirements of the milestone from the PNRR and is compatible with the requests of the European Commission.
Additionally, Pîslaru criticized the trade union confederations for their opposition to the salary law, arguing that it would bring significant salary increases in the public sector. The protests of the unions coincided with discussions about the salary law, which generated controversy.
