Before the discussions about the PNL leadership, MEP Rareș Bogdan accused the party’s internal faction of promoting a direction that distances liberal voters and would “bring the party closer to USR.” He also called for a “serious discussion” within the party and argued that every day Bolojan remained in the position associated with leading the party would be a “lost day.”
At the same time, Bogdan intervened in favor of appointing and supporting the government led by Luca Niculescu, describing the internal campaign as a “crusade” and warning that snap elections would exacerbate instability. In the same context, he said that if Niculescu’s government were to fall, the president could be “forced” to call snap elections, with negative effects on investment and the proper functioning of politics.
