The joint specialized committees of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies gave a negative opinion on Tuesday for Raluca Turcan, proposed for the position of Minister of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity.
Following the vote, the candidacy was rejected by 39 votes against. Raluca Turcan received 34 votes in favor, while one committee member abstained.
The hearing of the liberal politician, former Minister of Labor in the Cîțu Government during the pandemic, was not without scandal. According to HotNews, the chair of the session, Adrian Solomon of the PSD, cut off Raluca Turcan’s microphone during her presentation on the grounds that she had exceeded the time allotted for presenting the priorities. He also reproached her for continuing to promote the law banning the cumulation of a service pension with a salary, even though it is unconstitutional.

Members of the committees for labor and social protection, for equal opportunities for women and men, as well as for youth and sports from the Chamber of Deputies took part in the proceedings. From the Senate, the committees for labor, family and social protection, for human rights, equal opportunities, religious denominations and minorities, as well as for youth and sports were present.
The committees’ opinion is advisory, while the final decision regarding the appointment to the position of minister is to be made במסגרת the parliamentary and governmental procedure.
Dragoș Pîslaru and Mircea Abrudean received favorable opinions on Tuesday, for the position of Minister of Investments and European Projects, respectively for heading the Ministry of the Interior.
We remind you that Sebastian Burduja, Radu Miruță, Cătălin Drulă and Irineu Darău were rejected by the committees, while Alexandru Nazare and Tanczos Barna received favorable opinions.
