PSD will organize an internal referendum on April 20 to decide whether it will continue to be part of the government, the National Permanent Bureau decided on Monday during an extended meeting.
Approximately 5,000 members, including mayors, local elected officials, and parliamentarians, will participate in the vote that will determine the future of the governmental alliance. The decision comes in a tense political context, and the result of the internal consultation will influence the strategic direction of the party in the upcoming period.
Social-democrat leader Sorin Grindeanu announced that this consultation will be similar to the one at the time of PSD's entry into government, but this time it will discuss a possible exit from the Coalition. Additionally, the PSD leader mentioned that the analysis will include the way of interaction within the Government and the assessment of the party's measures.
Grindeanu stated that the budget and governmental activity will influence the vote of his colleagues, and the analysis will highlight both the positive and negative aspects.
