PSD Deputy Bogdan Ivan announced on Wednesday, after the vote in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies, the adoption of a bill that declares a state of crisis in the field of fuels. The project provides for a reduction in the excise duty on diesel, limitation of diesel exports, limitation of the commercial markup, and a special tax on exceptional profits.
Ivan emphasized that these measures should lead to a decrease in the final price for private consumers and companies in Romania. The project, initiated by PSD, was adopted with 293 votes in favor, 2 abstentions, and one vote against. Ivan mentioned that, in the context of the decrease in the price of a barrel of oil, the intervention of Parliament is essential for correcting fuel prices, which have increased significantly in the previous period. Among the adopted measures is also the regulation of the solidarity contribution on income from the sale of biofuels. Additionally, it will allow for a reduction in the biofuel content in gasoline during the application of the protective measures.
"An extremely important project has just been voted on, namely the declaration of a state of crisis in the field of fuels, the reduction of the excise duty on diesel, limitation of diesel exports, limitation of the commercial markup, and a special tax on exceptional profits in the field of fuels. This should lead to a reduction in the final price for private consumers, but also for companies in our country," said Bogdan Ivan after the vote in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies.
