The PSD accused Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan of indecision and procrastination in adopting the economic stimulus program proposed five months ago. The social democrats believe that if the program had been implemented on time, Romania would have avoided some of the current economic problems, including an inflation rate of 8.6%, the highest in the EU.
The PSD emphasizes that the contraction of consumption has lasted for five months, the longest period of crisis since 2009/2010, and that social discontent has increased due to the Prime Minister's lack of response. Additionally, the PSD welcomed the measures announced by Bolojan to cap gas prices, inspired by their proposals.
