Alexandru Muraru, vice president of PNL, launched an attack on the PSD leader, criticizing the social-democrats' proposal for the position of prime minister, Sorin Grindeanu, and promoting the candidacy of Siegfried Mureșan, supported by PNL, USR, and UDMR.

Muraru emphasized that Romania needs a prime minister capable of opening doors in Brussels, mentioning that Mureșan is negotiating the European Union budget for the period 2028-2034, essential for the funds needed for infrastructure and agriculture in the country. In contrast, he highlighted Grindeanu's controversial past, associating him with Ordinance 13 and the street protests. Muraru stressed the importance of Romania's credibility in the context of the current fiscal crisis and pointed out that important decisions for the country should be made by people with a solid CV.

Meanwhile, after the fall of the Veștea Government, President Nicușor Dan convened the parties at Cotroceni for consultations, but Friday's meeting did not lead to a consensus.
