The leadership of PNL decided, on Monday, through a vote, to reconfirm the decision not to form a coalition with PSD, with 39 votes in favor, 10 against, and 5 abstentions. The leader of PNL, Ilie Bolojan, emphasized that the party is in an unprecedented situation, mentioning that the announcement of the President of Romania regarding Adrian Veştea's proposal as Prime Minister was made without prior consultation with the PNL leadership, considering this an uncollegial attitude.
Bolojan highlighted that PNL acted correctly in the previous coalition, but criticized PSD for shirking responsibility and lies, which led to the collapse of the Government. He reaffirmed that accepting discussions for a government led by Veştea would mean invalidating PNL's previous decisions. The vote was a reaffirmation of the party's commitment not to collaborate with PSD, thus establishing the future direction of political discussions.
