PNL is asking former Labour Minister Florin Manole and Constitutional Court judge Cristian Deliorga to publicly explain their presence aboard a private jet that flew to Mykonos in July 2026. The liberals are also seeking clarifications from former Prime Minister Victor Ponta and the other passengers, as well as an investigation by the Constitutional Court into possible implications for the judge’s independence.

According to information published by NewsCenter, the aircraft departed from Băneasa Airport on July 8 for the Greek island and carried 13 passengers from politics, public administration and the business community. They reportedly included Florin Manole, Cristian Deliorga, Victor Ponta and businessman Gruia Stoica, founder of the Grampet Group, who was definitively convicted of influence peddling. Florin Manole confirmed that he was on the plane and said the trip was organized and paid for by the Chamber of Commerce of Romania. UDMR Senator István-Loránt Antal gave a similar explanation. Victor Ponta said he did not remember the trip, while Deliorga did not respond to press inquiries.

PNL is asking the Constitutional Court judge to specify who invited him, whether he was asked for anything in return, and to clarify reports about another private-jet trip to the French Riviera. The liberals compare the case with the Nordis flight scandal and accuse politicians, businesspeople and individuals holding key positions of maintaining privileged relationships.
