The PACE group will support the censure motion of PSD and AUR against the Bolojan Government and proposes Călin Georgescu for the position of Prime Minister.

The PACE parliamentary group announced that it will support the motion of no confidence prepared by PSD and AUR against the government led by Ilie Bolojan. Senator Ninel Peia stated that PACE parliamentarians will contribute to drafting the text of the motion and he proposes Călin Georgescu for the position of prime minister. This move could decisively influence the vote in Parliament, where PSD and AUR need 14 additional votes to dismiss the Executive.

Sources from PSD expressed surprise at the collaboration with AUR, considering that previously PSD leaders rejected such an alliance. Additionally, a decision by the Constitutional Court from 2020 stipulates that a dismissed prime minister cannot be proposed again for the same position, which complicates the situation in the event that the Bolojan government is dismissed.
