AUR announces that it will table a motion of no confidence against the Niculescu Government, regardless of whether or not the Executive assumes responsibility for the budget rectification bill. George Simion and Petrișor Peiu maintain that this is a natural course of action for the opposition.
George Simion stated that the party will take the same stance toward the current Government as it did in the case of the cabinet led by Bolojan. The AUR leader recalled that, after eight motions of no confidence had been filed against the former Executive, a ninth was signed and voted on, including by the PSD.
“If the Government does not assume responsibility, it will still face a motion of no confidence from us. If it does assume responsibility, the rule is that the opposition always tables a motion of no confidence,” Peiu said,” according to Digi24.
Petrișor Peiu, the leader of the AUR senators, stated that the party will table a motion of no confidence every time the Government assumes responsibility, considering that this procedure must be used in moderation and only in exceptional situations. He said that AUR has not yet decided which parties it will ally with, but that it will do its duty as an opposition party.
Peiu also criticized the statements made by UDMR leader Kelemen Hunor, according to whom the opposition parties will not ally with AUR, and the Government would thus be condemned to remain in power until 2028. AUR also intends to summon Prime Minister Luca Niculescu to Parliament.
