President Nicușor Dan is expected to announce today the name of the designated prime minister for the formation of a new Government, with Eugen Tomac, the leader of PMP and MEP, as the favorite to lead a cabinet of technocratic ministers, according to sources.

This designation could help unblock the political crisis, considering the dissatisfaction within PSD regarding the exclusion of social democrats from government positions. Among the possible ministers in Tomac's Government are Luca Niculescu for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mihnea Motoc for the Ministry of National Defense. The current Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, could remain in office, although he is no longer a member of PNL.
