The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, participated in the Three Seas Initiative Summit and Business Forum in Dubrovnik, where he presented an optimistic assessment of the SAFE program, estimated at 16 billion euros. He detailed the status of the tranches, mentioning that 4 billion are allocated for highways, with contracts already signed. The Ministry of Defense has until May 31 to complete the contracting procedures, while the Ministry of Internal Affairs will request the remaining 3 billion in Parliament. Regarding the PNRR, Nicușor Dan emphasized the consensus on adopting the necessary laws, although there are some differences between parties on 2-3 of them. He expressed his willingness to personally intervene to facilitate the debates, highlighting the general will to advance with the legislation by the deadline.
