President Nicuşor Dan said on Sunday, after attending the Summit of the Initiative for Carpathian Integration, that Romania is ready to provide an attractive environment for investment, leveraging the strategic position of the Port of Constanţa, the development of road infrastructure and the potential of sectors such as the defense industry, technology and nuclear energy.
The head of state said, in a message posted on Facebook, that the meeting, held in the Ivano-Frankivsk region at the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, had an important economic dimension. The inaugural summit of the Carpathian Initiative, also known as Carpathian 8, brought together leaders and representatives from Austria, Czechia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Hungary and Ukraine.
Nicuşor Dan advocated building a common regional market based on mutual trust and connectivity. In this context, Romania is promoting its logistical advantages and development capacity in strategic sectors.
Before the economic forum, the president met, in Polianîţia, with Romanians from Transcarpathia. He discussed the community's needs and the preservation of national identity, assuring them that protecting their rights remains a “priority” of the Romanian state.
