Siegfried Mureșan accuses PSD of prolonging the political crisis: “Grindeanu rejected my invitation to dialogue twice”

Siegfried Mureșan announces that he will not resign, although he claims that PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu asked him to do so. In a post published on Facebook, Mureșan says that PSD intends to vote against his Cabinet and accuses the party of prolonging the political crisis.

Mureșan claims that, from the very first day after being appointed by the president of Romania, PSD sought reasons not to support the Government. He says that Sorin Grindeanu rejected an invitation to dialogue twice and that the Social Democrats had no constructive response to the proposed governing program.

According to Mureșan, his team was open to including PSD's proposals in the program, but the negotiations did not lead to an agreement. He also says that he will not “turn his back on Parliament” by withdrawing his mandate.

Mureșan accuses Sorin Grindeanu and PSD of putting the party's interests ahead of Romania's interests and of acting to perpetuate the political deadlock. He calls on the Social Democrats to publicly explain why they would vote against the Government and argues that these reasons are not objective, but are driven by political interests.

The statements come ahead of the vote scheduled for Wednesday, when Parliament is expected to decide on the Cabinet led by Mureșan.
