PNL MEP Siegfried Mureșan stated that PSD is once again trying to mislead Romanians with the myth of the 'technocratic savior', while President Nicușor Dan consults parties for the nomination of the Prime Minister. Mureșan argues that Romania does not need a technocrat, but a political majority willing to implement the necessary reforms. He claims that there are no magic solutions for economic problems, only clear conclusions from the European Commission's reports, which indicate the need to reduce the deficit and increase investments.

Mureșan warns that PSD wants a technocrat to avoid reforms, knowing that a Prime Minister without political support will be blocked by the party barons. He concludes that PSD must take responsibility for governance, not just be in opposition for show.

"PSD is once again trying to deceive Romanians with the myth of the 'technocratic savior'. Romania does not lack solutions for the economic problems it faces. Romania lacks a political majority willing to implement the necessary reforms. And PSD is the party that opposes them the most. Romania receives an annual country report from the experts of the European Commission, which clearly shows what the country's problems are and how they can be solved. A technocrat would reach exactly the same conclusions. It is clear that we need to continue reducing the deficit, combating the waste of public money, and increasing investments. That is exactly what Prime Minister Bolojan has done in the past year. PSD does not want a technocrat because he would find other solutions to our problems. This is just the myth of the 'savior' that PSD hopes will deceive us again, just as they have done in the past," Mureșan wrote on Facebook.
