PNL MEP Siegfried Mureșan stated on Monday, after a round of consultations held at the Cotroceni Palace with the leaders of the former governing coalition, that the subject of restoring the coalition with PSD is closed. Mureșan emphasized that if PNL had chosen to return to PSD after the no-confidence motion, the party would now be closer to 8% than to 22%.
He stated that citizens expect an efficient government and penalize parties that do not provide solutions. Mureșan highlighted that PNL, along with its partners, USR and UDMR, demonstrates that it has solutions for Romania's problems.
Additionally, PSD president Sorin Grindeanu commented on the consultations, mentioning that PSD is in opposition and that it will convene Parliament for the PNRR projects. Grindeanu left open the possibility of new discussions with the president after his return from France.
