Siegfried Mureșan, PNL MEP, stated on Tuesday at Digi 24 that PSD is exclusively concerned with positions, accusing Sorin Grindeanu of ardently wanting to become prime minister. Mureșan emphasized that PNL is losing trust in PSD, considering its previous "experiments." He stated that PNL does not wish to collaborate with PSD, preferring that one of the two parties govern alone. Mureșan criticized Grindeanu's behavior, comparing it to that of Liviu Dragnea, emphasizing that PSD, with only 23% of the votes, no longer has the capacity to generate majorities as in the past. He called for clarifications from Grindeanu regarding his governance plans, emphasizing that he cannot act like a party leader with a majority.

"We know that we no longer trust PSD. And with each day that PSD talks only about positions, in which Mr. Grindeanu says he absolutely wants to be prime minister and that anyone else is a bad option, we lose even more trust in PSD. Mr. Grindeanu's attitude is specific to a party president who has 51% in Parliament. However, Mr. Grindeanu does not have such a majority. All the things he learned from Liviu Dragnea, when PSD had 46% in Parliament, that behavior he has adopted and is applying now is irrelevant, because PSD is today a party of 23%, with a real capacity of about 15%,” Mureșan stated in an intervention at Digi24.
