The President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, sent a message on Facebook after the appointment of Eugen Tomac as Prime Minister, warning that a technocratic government could prolong political uncertainty at a crucial moment for Romania. Abrudean emphasized the importance of a government with political legitimacy, capable of building functional majorities and not abandoning the necessary reforms for the modernization of the country.

He stressed that budgetary discipline is essential and criticized the idea of returning to governance formulas that led to waste. Eugen Tomac, appointed as Prime Minister, stated that he will form a team of specialists and that he is open to dialogue with pro-Western parties, prioritizing PNRR funds, accession to the OECD, and strengthening the partnership with the USA.
