Mihai Busuioc was voted on Tuesday by the Romanian Senate to take up the post of constitutional judge, starting July 13, with the support of PSD. His hearing lasted just 15 minutes and the vote was formal, with 79 votes in favor. The opposition criticized the appointment as immoral and dangerous. Busuioc, the current president of the Court of Auditors, has proposed solutions to improve the work of the CoA, including increasing the number of assistant magistrates. He also has a history of political conflicts, being associated with former PSD leader Liviu Dragnea.
