PSD Deputy Marius Budăi harshly criticized the government led by Prime Minister Bolojan, calling it a "juggler" for attempting to present a reduction in the budget deficit through austerity measures. He explained that, in reality, the reduction is just an accounting trick, as part of the European funds have been moved from the 'loans' category to 'grants', which created an illusion of increased revenues. Additionally, the Minister of Finance was accused of manipulating data regarding VAT revenues, which, although they increased by 10.7%, are affected by inflation of nearly 10% since December 2025. The former minister emphasized that, in reality, reducing the deficit through inflation is not an achievement, but rather evidence of the destruction of citizens' purchasing power and the collapse of consumption, putting the national economy on the brink of recession.
