The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, stated that Romania's entry into technical recession is a shame for the entire governing Coalition, including PSD, which assumes its share of the blame. Grindeanu criticized the economic decisions made by the government and also stated that there is a culprit for the current situation.
"Certainly, there is a main culprit for the wrong direction we have been pushed into. The absurd stubbornness, the fierce resistance to any rational argument, the permanent obsession with image and personal calculations instead of real dialogue and solid economic solutions. This is the true assessment after six months in office," said Sorin Grindeanu.
He emphasized that Romanians are already feeling the impact of austerity and rising prices, and that recession is a painful reality. Although PSD has managed to stop some harsh fiscal measures, Grindeanu acknowledged that it has not been able to prevent all unfavorable decisions. He called for solidarity measures for pensioners, mothers, and children, emphasizing that real dialogue within the Coalition is necessary to correct economic mistakes.
