The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, said that the "fiddler" will be changed if necessary, referring to a possible change of Ilie Bolojan from the position of prime minister, after the general secretary of PSD, Claudiu Manda, said that there might come a time when those in the coalition "will change the fiddler because he no longer respects the playlist".
He emphasized that PSD has requested a package of economic recovery measures, essential for supporting the government. He criticized the austerity-based governance and mentioned internal tensions, especially with USR, as well as the lack of coordination regarding the Mercosur agreement, which was decided without an adequate public debate. Although PSD does not support this agreement, Grindeanu stated that Romania is already committed.
Economically, he contested the idea of a budgetary crisis and emphasized the importance of discussions about pensions, stating that PSD remains a key player in governance, having a central role in the parliamentary majority.
