The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, stated that his party does not agree with the USR proposal to reduce salaries for all employees, including doctors, teachers, and police officers, whom he referred to as "militiamen." This statement was made before the coalition meeting scheduled at the Victoria Palace, where the budget for 2026 and the technical recession that Romania has entered will be discussed.
Grindeanu avoided commenting on the possible change of Ilie Bolojan, emphasizing that the analysis of this situation is not within his competence. Other leaders also participated in the meeting, including the president of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor. PSD recently blocked the ordinance that provided for the reduction of positions in the administration, which makes discussions within the coalition even more tense.
