PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu announced on Monday that he would propose to Prime Minister Luca Niculescu that the maximum allowance received by a member of the Board of Directors of a state-owned company should not exceed the average salary nationwide. The measure is intended to ensure a uniform approach to remuneration on boards of directors.
Grindeanu stated that the proposal would include exceptions for companies listed on the stock exchange. The PSD leader criticized the increase in allowances at some state-owned companies and argued that it is unacceptable for such increases to be approved before the end of a mandate.
At the same time, Grindeanu announced that, within two weeks, the consolidation of all proposals regarding the merger of certain state institutions, agencies, and companies should be completed. He gave the Ministry of Transport as an example, where he believes there are several structures that can be merged.
According to the PSD leader, the reform could generate significant savings for the budget, funds that could be used to finance next year's economic and social policies. The statements were made at the end of the meeting of the PSD National Permanent Bureau.
