The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, stated that the social democrats will no longer make any proposals in the negotiations for forming the new Government, after the consultations at Cotroceni.
Grindeanu emphasized that PSD has been constructive, but believes that the space for compromise has been exhausted. He stated that the party will not support an executive in which it is not a part, rejecting the idea of only providing votes without assuming responsibility. Grindeanu criticized PNL, USR, and UDMR, accusing them of wanting to prolong the political crisis and of not being sincere in their desire to form a majority. He also mentioned that PSD has made significant concessions, including accepting a prime minister from a party ranked below PSD in the elections. His message came after President Nicușor Dan announced that discussions for forming a majority have failed, returning to the political deadlock.
