The Mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, launched a harsh attack against the PSD, emphasizing that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will not resign and that PNL will not support a motion of censure against him. In a message on Facebook, Ciucu accused the social democrats of undermining the Coalition's decisions, especially when it came to cutting privileges. He highlighted the negative impact of PSD's policies on the economy, mentioning the increased budget deficit and the risks for attracting European funds. The mayor reaffirmed that PNL will no longer collaborate with PSD if they force the dismissal of Bolojan.
In conclusion, Ciucu warned that PSD risks provoking a political crisis out of a desire to maintain their privileges, emphasizing that PNL will defend its leader and will continue to govern responsibly. PSD is set to decide through an internal referendum whether it will continue to support Bolojan's government.
"Will you take responsibility for something, ever?
To start talking about the state of the economy after you have thrown the budget deficit into the air, reaching the highest in the European Union, jeopardizing the attraction of billions of euros allocated to Romania, after you came in election years with measures that put the economy in a major risk zone, seems to me the height of irresponsibility. The height of irresponsibility!
We have chosen a responsible leader! We chose a leader who acknowledged the mistakes of his own party and then dedicated his professional and political life to correcting them! And he has corrected them, while you have attacked, undermined, and blocked him day by day, week after week! And yet he managed a minimum of reforms that keep us afloat today!
I remind you, the National Liberal Party decided at the last National Political Bureau that IT WILL NO LONGER FORM A COALITION WITH PSD if PSD dismisses the Government through a motion of censure! And since the Prime Minister will not resign, you will have to dismiss him yourselves.
You are the ones provoking a political crisis out of nothing.
You have no plan, you have no vision for the country, you have nothing. Just the privileges and interests for which you are willing to harm the country to keep them." wrote Ciprian Ciucu on Facebook.
