Peiu contradicts Murad: "If we were to vote for the Veștea Government, we would politically commit suicide, we would lose 80% of voters"

Petrișor Peiu, the president of the National Council of AUR, stated on Antena 3 CNN that his party will not vote for the investiture of the Veștea Government, emphasizing that the first option remains the organization of early elections.

Peiu asserted that a party with 20% of the votes cannot support a government in which it is not represented, warning that voting for it would equate to a "political suicide".

He also mentioned that Mohammad Murad, the only AUR parliamentarian with reservations regarding this position, will not vote for the government if the party maintains its decision.

Peiu specified that, in the event that the current governmental formula falls and new negotiations are opened, AUR could discuss participation in the government only if treated as an eligible party for forming the executive, if a series of economic measures supported by the formation are accepted, and if it receives ministerial portfolios.

The AUR leader also stated that the party does not intend to vote for a government it is not part of and indicated that the parliamentarians of the formation will not support the current executive proposal in Parliament.
