Petrișor Peiu Mocks Nicușor Dan Ahead of Consultations at Cotroceni

AUR Senate Leader Petrișor Peiu mocked President Nicușor Dan on Sunday, one day before consultations at Cotroceni Palace. Peiu posted the song “A Wonderful World” on Facebook, accompanied by the message: “Nicușor Dan is preparing intensely for tomorrow’s consultations at Cotroceni.”

The post came after AUR announced that it would attend the meeting with the head of state to continue dialogue with state institutions, despite its criticism of the president. The party claims that Nicușor Dan has said he will accept neither a government that includes AUR nor an executive supported by the party.

Dan Dungaciu said that this position turns the president into a leader who represents only part of the electorate and accused him of keeping Romania in a state of division and tension. He argued that, in a difficult international geopolitical context, this is the worst solution for the country.

AUR representatives announced that they would also convey to Cotroceni their grievances regarding the rift between institutions and a significant part of the population, as well as the reasons that led millions of Romanians to get their information from TikTok. The consultations are scheduled for Monday.
