George Simion mocks Nicușor Dan: “We are dealing with a bungler”

AUR leader George Simion mocked President Nicușor Dan at Parliament on Wednesday after being asked whether he had been invited to the consultations at Cotroceni regarding the appointment of a prime minister. Simion claimed that the head of state was delaying the summoning of the parties and made accusations against him.

“What consultations?” George Simion replied when asked whether he had been invited by the president. The AUR leader added: “We are dealing with a troublemaker at Cotroceni who is making a mockery of our country.”

President Nicușor Dan announced on Wednesday that he was inviting, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, the presidents and representatives of the political parties and formations represented in Parliament to the Cotroceni Palace for consultations regarding the appointment of the candidate for the office of prime minister.
