Adrian Veștea, the designated prime minister, revealed in an interview for Euronews that President Nicușor Dan proposed him the position of prime minister four days later, but did not inform Ilie Bolojan due to some "urgent matters".

Although he was criticized by PNL leaders for lacking an official mandate, Veștea emphasized that he does not consider himself a traitor or a "Trojan horse". He mentioned that he received assurances that he has enough votes in Parliament, without detailing the source of this information. A former Minister of Development in the Ciolacu government, Veștea added that he was invited to contribute his expertise to bring peace to the country. These statements come in the context of his first reactions after receiving the mandate.
