Ilie Bolojan emphasized that judges' pensions, who retire at 48 with an average pension of €5,000, are a social anomaly, given that most Romanians retire at 65. He announced that the issue of special pensions will be addressed in the second or third fiscal package, as part of the obligations to the European Commission and to ensure social justice. Bolojan underlined the need to correct this situation in order to capitalize on the professional experience of judges.
