Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that the reform of judges' pensions is a substantial project, not a simulation of corrections. He emphasized the importance of respecting the work of citizens in both the public and private sectors and mentioned that, for the first time, the Constitutional Court has imposed a waiting period for the opinion of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM). Bolojan explained that the CSM's opinion is advisory and does not affect the constitutionality of the law.

He also mentioned that the Government waited 9-10 days for a response from the CSM, which was active during this period. The Prime Minister highlighted the budgetary crisis and the perception of privileges among citizens as reasons for the reform. He proposed that judges and prosecutors who have exceeded the retirement age should benefit from the old pension law to avoid immediate departures from the system. Bolojan reaffirmed that he will negotiate but will not compromise on fundamental principles.
