The new digital driving license, which will be available on mobile devices, will be more difficult to forge and will be valid for 15 years. The reform includes common penalties for serious offences, such as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, which will be applied uniformly in all Member States. The agreement to implement the digital license was reached in March and the system should be fully operational by the end of 2030, thus contributing to road safety.
