Romania is preparing for the Mediterranean cyclone Barbara, which will bring heavy rains and extreme weather phenomena. A red rain alert is in effect for Bucharest and the counties of Constanța, Călărași, Ialomița, Giurgiu, and Ilfov, where water accumulations of up to 140 l/m² are expected. Authorities in Constanța have taken safety measures, and schools will be closed. Additionally, an orange alert has been issued for other areas, with risks of flooding and avalanches. Citizens are advised to stay indoors and avoid outdoor activities.
