ANM has issued a red warning for Constanța, Năvodari, Ovidiu, and Lumina, where torrential rain and thunderstorms are expected

The National Meteorological Administration issued a red alert on Tuesday, October 27, for torrential rain and thunderstorms in the municipality of Constanța and the localities of Năvodari, Ovidiu and Lumina. The warning is valid from 4:50 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Meteorologists warn that, during the period covered by the alert, heavy rain will continue, with additional rainfall amounts expected to exceed 20–25 liters per square meter. The precipitation will be accompanied by thunderstorms, which could lead to local problems.

The red alert was issued at 4:40 p.m., after significant rainfall amounts had already been recorded in recent hours, ranging from 50 to 55 liters per square meter in the affected areas.

ANM recommends that people avoid traveling during severe weather and follow the latest weather updates. The warning covers a limited period, but the intensity of the rain and already waterlogged soil may increase the risk of water accumulation and local flooding.
