The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law aimed at improving military discipline and preventing discrimination and sexual harassment in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The law brings changes to the Disciplinary Regulation and the Internal Service Regulation, requiring military members to behave with dignity and honor, respecting equal rights between women and men. The new provisions prohibit inappropriate behaviors, including discrimination based on gender, race, or religion, and provide measures against sexual harassment.
The commander is obligated to conduct official investigations in cases of discrimination or violence, and units responsible for gender equality can also initiate investigations.
