The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he intends to replace the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Vasil Maliuk, as part of a broader reshuffle. Zelensky emphasized the importance of focusing on combat operations, urging Maliuk to concentrate on achieving more effective asymmetric operations against the Russian occupier.

In a Facebook post, the president mentioned that Maliuk will continue to contribute to the SBU, with the task of strengthening these operations.

Zelensky also discussed potential candidates for the new head of the SBU. Maliuk took over the leadership of the SBU in 2023 and coordinated significant operations, including attacks on the Kerch Bridge and Russian bases.
