Zelensky warns that Russia is preparing a new massive attack on Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned on Tuesday that Russia is preparing a new large-scale attack on Ukraine, based on information provided by intelligence services. The statement was made on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, where the Ukrainian leader met with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham.

Zelensky announced that Ukraine is maintaining communication with its allies to obtain new air defense systems. He rejected the idea of easing sanctions against Russia, arguing that the Ukrainian population is living permanently under the threat of missile and drone attacks.

Russian forces have intensified their air strikes and, in recent weeks, have shifted from nighttime attacks to repeated launches throughout the day. Moscow has also used jet-powered drones, which are harder to intercept and have disrupted economic activity and the functioning of institutions.

During his visit to New York, Zelensky discussed ending the war and a possible bilateral truce regarding energy infrastructure with US President Donald Trump. He said that Vladimir Putin is not winning, but is also not determined to negotiate, because he does not consider the loss of human life a reason to stop the conflict.
