On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a message in Romanian, congratulating Maia Sandu and highlighting the close ties between the two countries. He emphasized that only together, within the European Union, can they guarantee security and a dignified life for citizens. Zelensky rejected the idea of a division between Ukraine and Moldova regarding EU membership, considering it essential for the stability of the region, especially in the context of external challenges. This day coincides with the countdown to the parliamentary elections in Moldova, which are of major importance for the country's pro-Western orientation.
