Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine has met all the necessary criteria to open accession negotiations, and Hungary's blockage has sparked outrage among other member states.

Orbán justified the veto through a national consultation, and Zelensky urged the Hungarian Prime Minister to remove this obstacle. He also insisted that accession must be complete and on an equal footing, without "semi-members" of the EU. In the end, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is at war for its survival and called for Hungary's support instead of blockages.
