Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday in Oslo that Ukraine must participate in any negotiations concerning its future if a possible trilateral summit between the United States, Russia and China, discussed for November, is held.
“If it concerns issues related to Ukraine and our future, this can be acceptable only if we are present at the negotiating table,” Zelensky said after meeting with White House envoy Steve Witkoff.
The statement comes after US President Donald Trump said he was ready to meet Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping in China. The Kremlin confirmed that the idea of such a summit had been mentioned, while Chinese authorities said they had no information about its organization.
In Oslo, Zelensky thanked the United States for resuming the supply of intelligence on the detection of Russian missiles. He also expressed confidence that discussions on the Starlink system and the delivery of Patriot interceptors would have a positive outcome.
The Ukrainian president said that his country was not losing the war, but continued to lose people and was seeking solutions to end the conflict.
