Upon his arrival at the European Union summit in Brussels, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised the new sanctions imposed by the United States on major Russian oil companies, considering them a 'good signal' that demonstrates the increasing international pressure on Russia. Zelensky emphasized the importance of tougher measures and thanked American President Donald Trump for the 'decisive and well-directed decision.' He stated that the sanctions are essential to send a clear message to Moscow that the prolongation of war and terror has a cost.

The Trump administration imposed sanctions on the two largest oil companies in Russia, calling for an immediate ceasefire in the conflict with Ukraine, which underscores the U.S. commitment to support Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
