Zelenski said that the signals coming from Russia are indecent and suggest a circumvention of the need for a meeting to find a solution to the conflict over the Russian invasion. He called for a strong US response if Putin is unwilling to talk. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said a meeting requires preliminary talks to address the divergent issues. Russia currently controls nearly 20% of Ukraine's territory and the conflict continues to escalate.
